Kos lies right in the heart of the Dodecanese island complex and is one of the most popular destinations in Greece.
Kos Town is the capital of the island, situated on the north-eastern coast, surrounded by lush green scenery. The island has been inhabited since the prehistoric years hence the town of Kos combines various architectural styles from the ancient, medieval and modern years. 
One of the most important sightseeing of the capital is the imposing Castle of the Knights of Saint John, on the eastern side of the port, which is connected to the rest of the town by a bridge that crosses the famous palm tree avenue, called Phoinikon street. Walking along the main picturesque paved road, you will encounter many cafes, taverns, restaurants, and shops as well as nightclubs, which transform the town into a lively entertainment hub at night.
